Conde Duque Apartments

Madrid

Located on Calle Limón, in the heart of Madrid’s Malasaña neighborhood, the Conde Duque Apartments project involves the full conversion of a former commercial space into two new residential units.

The intervention is based on a complete reconfiguration of the interior, resulting in two independent dwellings adapted to contemporary living needs. The first unit is arranged around a living-dining-kitchen area, one bedroom, and one bathroom. The second unit also includes a study and a walk-in closet, expanding its functional program.

The project proposes a comprehensive renovation of the space and its installations. New interior partitions are introduced to ensure privacy between the units, layouts are reorganized to accommodate domestic life, and all finishes are updated. Exterior carpentry is also replaced, improving both energy performance and the building’s urban image.

Beyond the change of use, the project seeks to give the space a clear architectural identity—one that resonates with its context and brings coherence to this new chapter.
